"Thanks to Andy Murray (no, not that one) for sharing his kickass photo of The Vermonter and The Malibu Surf and Turf!. At Annie's we have your Tuesday night SORTED. Come see us for dinner, then take your seats for #AnniesQuiz from 7.30pm in The Ocean State Tavern… Specialist subject is Orange Is the New Black (but if you are no expert on that, there are general knowledge rounds too)."
"This burger joint has such an iconic status in the city that a film was recently made about it. The toppings can be pretty out there, for example, The Vermonter (pancakes and maple syrup), The Elvis (peanut butter and jam) and The Sunday Dinner (no explanation needed). Everyone in Nottingham knows Annie’s."
"Need to know: A family-run tea room which has been offering traditional, homemade fayre since 1981, against the stunning backdrop of Dimmingsdale in the Churnet Valley. The Ramblers Retreat Country Tea Room is the place to tuck in to a satisfying treat before a woodland stroll, journey to the mysterious Chained Oak, or hectic day on the coasters at Alton Towers Resort. If you’re travelling with a canine companion, there are water bowls in the gardens, free doggy treats, and even dog ice cream available to buy!"
"12/04/2021: We visited the Ramblers Retreat last Friday after a wonderful walk around Dimmingsdale with friends!. The valley is magnificent and we must admit we'd have got a little lost if we didn't grab a walks map from the Ramblers beforehand!. When we returned, we grabbed a covid safe takeaway lunch- the brie and cranberry sandwich was a particular favourite!"

"In the trendy Lace Market area, the Hungry Pumpkin is the place to go for all day brunch with a mouth-watering Mediterranean twist. It’s always busy in this small, independent coffee shop/deli and the incredible foodie smell as you step inside will give you a clue why. All of the food is freshly prepared every day, something that the owners (who are from Italy) are particularly proud of."
"This independent Italian café is located in the city centre on High Pavement and it is also open every day of the week. They have a great variety of both breakfast and lunch options, as well as many options for both vegetarians and vegans. "Described as a magnificent 17th-century ducal mansion, Nottingham Castle sits atop cliffs 40m (130ft) high, offering fabulous views of the city. Originally built in 1067 by William the Conqueror and then rebuilt by a series of other kings, Nottingham Castle is embedded in history. Offering a medieval-to-modern British and European art collection, this ancient building has a lot of culture for visitors who wish to take a step back from the energetic city life."
"Once spoken of in the same terms as the Tower of London and Windsor Castle, Nottingham Castle looks over the city from its high sandstone crag known as Castle Rock. As with many strongholds in England the castle was torn down in the wake of the English Civil War to prevent it being re-used. Afterwards Henry Cavendish, the 2nd Duke of Newcastle, built the Baroque Ducal Mansion on the remains and in 1878 the Nottingham Castle Museum opened in this building."
"Visitors are taken on a guided tour around the windmill which is the onlyworking six-sailed stone tower windmill in England. During the tour you will discover the history of Heage Windmill, how the miller controls the mill, how stoneground flour is traditionally milled along with many anecdotes about the life of a miller. You can also buy some flour!"
"Located in 820 acres of breath-taking historic parkland is the stately mansion of Kedleston Hall near Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The estate has been owned by the Curzon family since the 13th century. The present 18th-century mansion is one of the best examples of the work of famous architect Robert Adam, with its Marble Hall and grand state rooms."
