"Le Jardin is a fabulous Independent cafe-bar serving excellent coffee with home cooked food. There are always specials available both food and drinks offering value for money. Catering for Coeliacs with an extensive Gluten Free menu."
"Back in central Whitby, the cutely named Bitz N Pizzas is another of the best Whitby takeaways. Located on Flowergate, this is a traditional takeaway restaurant that caters for a variety of tastes. You get to pick from a big selection of pizzas here, of course."
"Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday 3:40pm till 10:30pm, Sunday 3:40pm till 10:15pm. Previously a collection-only takeaway, Gino’s Pizza recently updated their website to allow customers to order and pay online for home delivery. As the name suggests, their main offerings are pizzas but they also offer other takeaway favourites such as burgers, kebabs, fried chicken, parmesans and a few pasta dishes."
"Situated right next to the town's swing bridge and offering great views out over the harbour, The Dolphin is a popular spot for punters. Its outdoor seating area is often bursting with customers on hot days and big events like Goth Weekend, as they watch the famous bridge open and close to let vessels in and out of the town. The bar stocks a selection of local and regional ales, both craft and cask, a wide wine range and a Gin Palace."
"Situated at the swing bridge, The Dolphin offers dog-friendly accommodation that is hard to beat for price and location. Address: Bridge St, Whitby YO22 4BG"
"Little Angel is a fairly central pub, and we decided to pop in on the way back to our apartment as our last one for the evening. Online it seems to be described as a ‘goth friendly pub’, and it reminded me of Grand Central in Manchester – sticky, slightly grubby and not really somewhere I want to spend too much time – although the music was more pop/chart rather than metal. Ross’ beer was pretty naff and he left it, and despite being a fairly empty pub with plenty of seats, there was a group of local gents stood at the bar bothering the staff and, more annoyingly, blocking the view of the cask beers."
"If you’re looking for somewhere to watch a big sporting event then this is the pub for you. The Little Angel has invested in state of the art 3DTV equipment to make match night perfect (and what’s more you’ll normally get free food with your beer). Saying this, many of the pub’s traditional characteristics still remain and according to reviews the food is absolutely fantastic."
"This traditional pub in Flowergate and has Cask Marque accreditation. There is a cask day every Wednesday with five different ales and a cider on sale at the same fixed price. Customers can buy a card that gets them a free pint for 10 bought."
"The Edge is a modern contemporary bistro, combining a seafood fine dining experience with traditional recipes. Enjoy the traditional dishes such as fish and chips, as well as more unique dishes such as seafood chowders and varied grilled prawns and fish. With three elaborate menus and a specials board that is ever-changing, The Edge restaurant and bistro is the place to go when you wish to try traditional seafood with a little twist."
"The Edge is a modern bistro and restaurant located on Bridge Street. It’s trendy interiors and simple menu make it the perfect starting point for your night out in Whitby. Obviously, they serve a great fish & chips but they also serve other fabulous classics like burgers, steaks, lamb rack and other mouthwateringly good meat, fish and vegetarian dishes."
"Ideal for families and travellers who are on the go, Fish Box is a charming fast-paced fish and chip shop that cooks up high-quality dishes to suit all budgets. With a small outside seating area, this low-key eatery is a welcoming place to eat while exploring the Whitby coastline. Despite what the name might suggest, Fish Box also offers Chicken Fillets, Steak Pies, and Jacket Potatoes."
"This award-winning restaurant and takeaway is best identified by its picturesque green exterior nestled along Pier Road. The chefs here take pride in offering 100% MSC-certified fish, meaning that it is sustainably sourced. Quayside has an extensive menu including a wholesome homemade fish pie, salads, and classic cod and chips, not to mention a whole host of gluten-free options."

"Veggies don't have to miss out on the deep-fried fun in Whitby. This harbour-side hotel and restaurant (which is also excellent for cocktails) serves up an incredible deep-fried halloumi and chips, with mushy peas on the side. Who needs cod, anyway?"
"On the outskirts of Whitby town is the Whitby Holiday Park, perched on a cliff-top and offering magnificent views across the dramatic North Yorkshire Coast. The perfect location for walkers and nature-lovers alike, the park is close to countryside trails, cliff-top footpaths, and beaches, with the Cleveland Way National Trail accessible from the park itself. Within the family-friendly park, you will find a cafe, clubhouse, and shop as well as a children's playground – you can even bring your pets (well-behaved ones of course!)."
"The restaurant at Harry’s boasts panoramic views of the port of Whitby and has an excellent reputation. All the meat served is sourced from local butchers and their fish comes from the best daily catches from the fishing boats in the area. Everything is freshly prepared and they offer a unique concept with their Starter Menu which allows you to sample various starter-sized dishes to enjoy alone or to share with friends."
"Yorkshire black pudding, steamed halibut on spinach, rump steak served on ‘the stone"… are you salivating yet? You can find out for yourself how the rest of the menu goes if you book a room Harrys Lounge. Find out what 'the stone" is while you’re there. The restaurant-bar is also a bread and breakfast. Harrys is a local landmark and for good reason."
