Must-see Bath attractions
"This 1830s, creeper-covered Bath stone mansion backs on to nearly four acres of beautifully maintained gardens that include expansive lawns, ponds, and a kitchen garden. The large terrace overlooking the garden is very popular for eating and drinking in fine weather. Setting the country-house tone inside are plush lounges with squishy sofas, ticking clocks, real fires in winter and a large and enjoyably diverse array of art."
"Not only does the hotel have a luxurious spa, it has its eye very much on all things budding and beautiful – it has a stunning, award-winning garden and all its rooms are named after flowers. The Heather and Lilac offer ‘Romeo & Juliet’ balconies overlooking the gardens. The Bath Priory is perfect for a romantic weekend."
"During the summer months, there are few better places to sit and while away a few hours than on the top deck of The Grain Barge, Bristol Beer Factory’s most distinctive venue. As its name suggests, the converted barge has been in position beside Mardyke Wharf in Hotwells since 2007, and offers genuinely unique views of Bristol Harbour."
"Just a little further down the road and we come to the Grain Barge, a historic converted barge. This central spot is known for its stunning views over the water. Check it out on a Wednesday when they host an open mic night."
"What: SquareMeal’s UK Restaurant of the Year 2018 is a hugely impressive harbourside venture located on the ground floor of the old Bristol General Hospital building, now given a stylish 21st-century makeover in chic neutrals. Casamia's enthusiastic staff aid and abet the chefs in the open kitchen as they take diners on an immensely flavoursome gastronomic journey inspired by the seasons. One-word descriptions (‘salad’, ‘turbot’, ‘duck’) give few clues to the sheer brilliance of the food, but all is revealed once the delicately complex creations start arriving on bespoke crockery."
"The prices may mean you have to save visits for a special occasion (you’re looking at close to £100 per person for the full menu or Chef’s Table, and it’s non-refundable once you book), but Casamia has a reputation for ambition that has put it at the top of Bristol’s fine dining establishments. This doesn’t make it overly formal – there’s no dress code. A focus on seasonal produce means menus change regularly, though there is an Italian influence."
"Probably the best known Michelin star restaurant in Bristol, Casamia is a fine dining experience like no other. The menu at Casamia changes with the seasons, as does the interior of the restaurant. The dishes are designed to showcase seasonal produce at its best and are inspired by childhood memories, locations and people the chefs have met."

For £15 per person (excluding food), guests can enjoy bottomless prosecco for 90 minutes alongside some comforting brunch dishes. Savour on the likes of fried buttermilk chicken and waffles, Quay Street Diner’s breakfast burger with a hash brown inside, Huevos Rancheros or pancakes drenched in maple syrup."

With an American theme to the diner, you’ll be salivating as you read the menu, which features fried chicken and waffles, California burritos and a hefty breakfast burger. If you’re fancying a more celebratory session, this is another great option for Bottomless brunch in Bristol."

On its brunch menu, you’ll find fried chicken and waffles (a diner staple), huevos rancheros and churros to satisfy your sweet craving. Enjoy it in a stylish take on the traditional diner; think vintage film posters, rustic wooden tables and retro red seating."
"Call in at the Canary Gin Bar for a pre-dinner drink. You can try one of the Cocktails of ‘Gin’ Austen made with their small-batch Bath Gin Company gin, or one of the bar’s other 230 gins. Then head back towards the Royal Crescent for dinner at The Circus, a family-run restaurant in a Georgian building, which serves local and seasonal food like Wiltshire lamb and Devon crab."
"This quirky bar, right in the heart of Bath’s city centre, has more than 200 different gins on offer, including Bath Gin (featuring a winking Jane Austen on the bottle), which is distilled in the cellars on site. The mixologists here really know what they’re talking about, so put yourself in their capable hands and try one of the incredible gin cocktails on the menu."
" ‘Who dares gins’ is the tongue-in-cheek motto for this modern-day gin palace, which offers no fewer than 30 different varieties of mother’s ruin to ..."
"The crown of the tor is the roofless St Michael’s Tower, the last fragment of a 15th century church which was torn down in the Dissolution of the Monasteries. The iconic hill has been a spiritual magnet for centuries, a beautiful place to walk, unwind and relax. On a clear day you can enjoy 360 degrees across 3 counties."
"Last but not least, take a trip to the Walled Garden at Mells. Explore this tranquil garden and refresh yourself with a light meal or cup of tea."
"Next door, you'll find its sibling, the Real Italian Pizza Co, which, with its wood-fired oven and thin crusts, is bringing proper pizza to Bath (£6.95 - £9.95). This creperia and gelateria, meanwhile, concentrates on the sweet stuff. The honeycomb pieces were rather humdrum, but, otherwise, an intensely fresh and creamy vanilla cone is testament to the Italians' fastidiousness over food."
"About: Framptons is located in The Empire on Grand Parade with views of Pulteney Bridge and The Weir from its iconic tall windows. The kitchen works closely with local artisan suppliers to deliver the best seasonal produce the county has to offer. Serving mouth-watering beef burgers that are created and complimented with locally sourced ingredients."
"Framptons offers dining all day, tank beer, wine, cocktails and live rugby on big screens. They work with local suppliers to find the highest quality seasonal ingredients and we do it all from converted billiards rooms in The Empire on Grand Parade. They know how to cook an egg, and there are all kinds of combos on the brunch menu for you to try."
"Classic cocktails, fine wines and local beers are all up for grabs at Framptons. Nestled along the Grand Parade, this Grade I-listed beauty is bringing the wow-factor for both looks and food. Better yet, all the dishes on the menu have been made using produce sourced from within 20 miles."
"24/05/2021: After seeing some decent reviews on Google, we decided to try Hundred Monkeys on a visit to Glastonbury. We checked in and were shown to a table.Good COVID protocols in place and a nice feel to the café (so justifies a 1 star) but unfortunately I can’t really review anything else.We were seated and our order taken fairly quickly. We were advised that there was a 20 minute wait for food, but we just ordered coffees and cakes, so weren’t expecting much of a wait.We were sat waiting a full hour, in which time we had noticed two other tables be seated, orders taken and drinks/food arriving, without even a glance or approach to our table. We decided to leave after an hour of waiting and hope this is just a one off, as the food that was coming out looked quite nice!"
"Explore the local flavours of southwest England at Hundred Monkeys Café. The relaxed restaurant and bakery serves vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free foods, and uses organic, locally sourced fish, meat and other ingredients. Decorated with cosy pinewood furniture and local artwork, the café is a great spot for a casual breakfast or lunch, or a sampling of the café’s large loose-leaf tea collection."
