"The Roslin is well known for its top-quality restaurant fare; if you’re looking to treat yourself or a loved one, you’ve come to the right place!. There are two outdoor dining areas on offer: the veranda or the garden terrace. The veranda serves up more traditional food with plenty of fish on the menu, while the garden terrace offers small plates, a variety of main courses and a small Asian menu."
"09/06/2021: Perfect from start to finish - that's the best (and most accurate way) to describe our tea.We like the Roslin, it's Southend's best hotel, and has the perfect location for afternoon tea. Having said that, the food, view and service are amazing. If you want a to celebrate a special occasion, or just a nice afternoon out, then this is "spot on"
"The Cliffs Pavilion theatre is actually in Westcliff-on-Sea but is still within walking distance from Southend seafront. The theatre pulls in some pretty big names. McFly have played there."
"A fun, family-run Mexican/Mediterranean restaurant in Southend-on-Sea, Salsa Restaurant and Tapas Bar offers delicious Mexican, tapas & Portuguese food, along with live music and entertainment. One of the largest family-run venues in south east…"
"11/06/2021: Booked a table for lunch yesterday, this place has been on my list for a while!. Had a table directly on the beach which was fab, the service was lovely, a young girl who was attentive, friendly and personable. Food was delicious we had the Rum battered sea bass, salmon skewers, garlic prawns, patas bratas and chicken skewers...all dishes were cooked to perfection, fresh and tasty!"
"Billy Hundreds is a real local favourite, and for good reason. Another place right on the seafront in Thorpe Bay, this family-run restaurant has a charming partly-covered outdoor eating area. There’s an excellent, reasonably-priced tapas menu on offer."
"Tucked away behind the seafront pubs of fishing village Old Leigh lies this whimsical tea garden, all plant fronds, terracotta pots and the odd friendly dog padding about. Sara’s Tea Garden is much more than a quick lunch spot. The lengthy menu makes use of shellfish sourced just 68 steps away."

"Wine very expensive (£8 for a large glass of sauvignon blanc!). Ambience: no heating on a chilly day, uninspiring menu, hard furnishings, scruffy flooring. Won't be going back."
