"Already in it’s eleventh year, The Cowshed opened back in 2009 with a focus on serving great food in a relaxed environment and they’ve stayed the course ever since. The man behind the ethos, Adam Denton, noted he wanted the addition of a restaurant where he was able to combine an “informal setting with an emphasis on quality, local produce” into the already thriving food scene of his hometown and so The Cowshed was born in a store on Whiteladies Road. Fitting that the front looks like a butchers shop, albeit a little more posh."

"With a focus on using locally sourced produce, The Cowshed in Clifton bases its menus around the British seasons, which means the main menu changes throughout the year. They’re best known for their incredible steaks which tend to be associated with a higher price. "I first came across Society in its home city of Bath, where I managed to visit the two branches in the order that they opened, a rarity for the Coffee Spot, starting with Kingsmead Square before moving onto The Corridor. However, I’ve safely broken that trend by skipping the third Society Café, in Oxford, instead visiting the fourth and most recent branch which opened this summer in Bristol. You’ll find Society Café down by the harbour, on the corner of Narrow Quay and Farr’s Lane, right next to the youth hostel."
