"Recent review: “Brilliant fish and chips and our first experience of the Hull Pattie - delicious!. Wonderful decor, lovely staff and great food. Anyone nostalgic for the great traditional pubs of the past should pay this place a visit."
"This unassuming pub cooks up a great meal with a friendly atmosphere. True pub-sized portions that will satisfy the hungriest bellies and the fussiest tastebuds. 48 High Street, Hull HU1 1QE – 01482 225212"
"Reviews: "Piping hot, fresh and very tasty! We ordered fish and chips and the fish was top quality, definitely coming back!". "We’ve had several takeaways over the last year during lockdowns and they have always been amazing. Prior to COVID, every meal inside the pub was a pleasure!". "As always from our local, great food as a takeaway. With great service and a smile, the pubs family are really coming together to provide top food and service during the pandemic as they do when the pub is trading in a none covid world."
"Recent review: “Visited once again for lunch today and as usual was delighted with our meal. We decided to push the boat out, being near Christmas and all that, and enjoyed two scrumptious courses. "The fish goujons and the chilli prawns for starters followed by baked haddock and game pie, everything was excellent. Service was very efficient, friendly and welcoming. Wishing all at The Duke of York every success for the coming year, you certainly deserve to do well."
"If good, old fashioned pub grub is what you’re after on April 12th, then The Whistling Goose has got you covered. They’ve recently reworked their beer garden to accommodate for outdoor dining and we think it looks fantastic!. The Whistling Goose has a pretty exciting menu with pub classics including a range of steaks, Sunday roasts, hand-battered fish & chips, and stake & ale pie."
"We’ve been banging on about The Whistling Goose since their reopening this April. Not only because of their fantastic pub classics menu, but for their huge beer garden. They’ve recently reworked their beer garden to accommodate for outdoor dining and we think it looks fantastic!"
"Address: Queens Gardens, Kingston Upon Hull, England, UK The beautifully landscaped Queens Gardens were created in 1930 and cover just under 4 hectares / 10 acres in total. Before this time, this actual area was part of the Queen's Dock for many years, until it was decided to fill this part of the waterfront. If you look carefully, it is quite easy to envisage the original size and shape of this dock, since it was never completely filled in and the Queens Gardens stand a little below the adjoining streets."
"You can’t miss these beautiful gardens which are situated right in the center of Hull. With flowers of various types, a pool with fountains and lots of spaces to sit and relax, Queen’s Gardens are truly a haven from the busy city center and one of the top places to visit in Hull."
"The Deep is the world’s only ‘Submarium’ – which is basically us naming what is a very good aquarium and dubiously claiming a world’s first. It’s bigger and better than your average Sealife centre. There are penguins, and a good collection of sharks and sawfish."
"The Deep is an aquarium on the Hull waterfront with over 3000 animals, including sharks and sawfish. The Deep also has an evening restaurant."
"Originally built as a public space for the working classes to relax, Pearson Park has now become one of the locals’ most favourite green areas. READ THIS:Sofia sightseeing: local's guide to Sofia. Pearson Park is a great place for picnicking, letting your children go wild at the colourful playground, watching ducks swimming in the lake, as well as checking out the plants at the lovely greenhouse."
"My stomping ground growing up was East Park with its boating lake, splash boat, and animal education centre. Smaller and also good for children, Pearson Park has a tropical animal house and duck pond, as well as the requisite monuments and ornamental gardens. West Park is good too, if I have to admit it."
