"With its celeb-speckled spa, haute interior, and the surrounding fecund forest nestling in at every opportunity, Lime Wood Hotel is a sybaritic affair. In keeping, its restaurant is “led” by chef-legend Angela Hartnett, and Luke Holder. Small plates hop off the pass all day."
"Lime Wood is the boutique hotel to stay at in the New Forest. Set in its own substantial. Lime Wood is the boutique hotel to stay at in the New Forest."
"Established in 2011 by hotel hotshot Robin Hutson, The Pig in Brockenhurst, was an immediate hit for its menu, the ingredients for which were all sourced from within 25 miles of the restaurant. Today, the forest’s produce remains a focal point for chef James Golding, who plucks leaves from the garden and smokes local hog and trout whenever he can. The restaurant’s menu is split under headers like “piggy bits,” “forest bits,” “mostly picked this morning.” Hampshire wood pigeon, cauliflower cheese with Isle of wight blue, and zero mile mushroom risotto are all comforting stars of the show."
"There may be a whole litter of Pigs, but this is the original. Expect a turn-of-the-century, ivy-covered manor house two miles east of Brockenhurst where inside you’ll find rustic-chic country decor, laid-back staff and lashings of country ephemera (old armchairs, antique clocks, oil paintings and a library of books on rural subjects). Rooms range from cosy to spacious; either in the main house or one of the handsome lodges and cabins dotted around the grounds (we particularly liked Bert’s Box, with its floor-to-ceiling windows)."
"Review - The burger and both chips were smashing, chicken a little dry and small however, still decent!. View 13799 - Burger King - Gunwharf Menu"
"The oldest architecture at Portsmouth Cathedral goes back to a 12th-century chapel dedicated to the slain Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Becket. This was almost totally obliterated in 1642 during the English Civil War, and only the Early English Gothic transept and choir survived. In the chancel there’s a monument to George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham, who was assassinated by an army officer at the Greyhound Pub in Portsmouth in 1628."
"The foundation stone of Portsmouth Cathedral, formally known as the Cathedral Church of St. Thomas of Canterbury, was laid in 1185. The chancel and transepts date from Norman times, while the choir is in the late style of Sir Christopher Wren. A highlight is the south side aisle of the choir, dedicated to the Royal Navy and including mementos of the Mary Rose and Nelson's HMS Victory."
"The village of Beaulieu is most famous for its National Motor Museum, which has one of the finest collections of cars, motorcycles and motoring memorabilia in the world. From legendary F1 cars and land speed record breakers, to iconic examples of engineering and design, there’s much to see and admire. During the school holidays there are lots of family focused activities and events including dressing up, craft workshops and seeing the vehicles in action."
"This large park is built on the grounds of a former lake and has 3 small freshwater lakes. The Solent Way, a 60-mile walk, crosses the park. Milton Common is a great place to spot wildlife."
