"16/04/2021: Their back door is wide open and you can see raw meat kept in a cardboard box on the floor. The staff are rude and will try to over-charge you. I'm a local that lives less than a minutes walk from them and I (along with all the other locals) refuse to use them."
"The Balkerne Water Tower or "Jumbo", viewed from the Balkerne Gate. Main article: Jumbo Water Tower. Completed in 1883 when the Town Council took over Colchester's water supply, the 110-foot (34-metre) water tower was originally called the "Balkerne Water Tower",[72] but soon became known as "Jumbo" because of its large size, which prompted the addition of an elephant-shaped weather vane at its peak."
"In the west part of the town there is a 1st century AD Roman gate and the Jumbo water tower. Fun fact that the tower was nicknamed “Jumbo” after the London Zoo elephant as a term of derision by Reverend John Irvine who was annoyed that the tower dwarfed his nearby rectory. I had my coffee break by this tower which gave me an opportunity to admire this construction."
