Restaurant Canterbury – Our top 10 restaurants in Canterbury – Petit Futé
"Southend’s premier luxury hotel embodies coastal cool, bedecked in sandy colours and subtle gold accents. A selection of treatment rooms downstairs offer total relaxation using a range of Elemis products, and the AA rosette restaurant serves up a great lunch or afternoon tea, overlooking the water. For dinner there’s a selection of fresh seafood (what else) alongside free-range meats and local produce of an excellent quality."
"The Roslin is well known for its top-quality restaurant fare; if you’re looking to treat yourself or a loved one, you’ve come to the right place!. There are two outdoor dining areas on offer: the veranda or the garden terrace. The veranda serves up more traditional food with plenty of fish on the menu, while the garden terrace offers small plates, a variety of main courses and a small Asian menu."
"09/06/2021: Perfect from start to finish - that's the best (and most accurate way) to describe our tea.We like the Roslin, it's Southend's best hotel, and has the perfect location for afternoon tea. Having said that, the food, view and service are amazing. If you want a to celebrate a special occasion, or just a nice afternoon out, then this is "spot on"
"This 14th century pub is one of the oldest buildings in Canterbury, and reportedly one of the oldest pubs. It boasts a gorgeous sun trapping garden along with heaters for when the sun is social distancing a bit too much. The pub is exclusively taking walk in’s until the indoor area of the pub reopens, which is great news for us who love a spontaneous trip out."
"Stop for a lunch break at Canterbury’s oldest pub, established in the year 1370. The Parrot is not only the town’s oldest pub but it’s is also one of the oldest buildings in Canterbury built on Roman foundations in the 14th century. Stepping into this pub really feels like taking a step back in time with its huge medieval beams and oak floorboards."
"The Rock Rose is a family pub in Whitfield, therefore whilst real ales and other alcoholic drinks are served its main feature is its restaurant. The Rock Rose prides itself on their varied menu which offers both traditional pub food as well as more modern twists, all of which uses ethically sourced ingredients. The Rock Rose delivers a range of special offers as they hold a curry night, a pie night, a fish and chip night and a steak night every week."
"Starting just east of Chalkwell Station, this beach is the choice of people who value peace for winter walks or sunbathing hot summer days. Chalkwell Beach is removed from Southend’s bustling arcades and entertainment, and has a vast belt of pebbles and sand tracked by a quiet, residential esplanade. And even if Chalkwell Beach has a more restrained atmosphere, there are shops selling beach paraphernalia and amenities like cafes just behind."
"Out of the way of the hustle and bustle of Southend’s central seaside, Chalkwell beach offers a quieter beach area for relaxation."
"Previously Steinbeck & Shaw, this club has been refurbished to a Japanese-theme bar and nightclub. It can get quite packed on busy nights, especially Tuesday’s Glitterbomb event – but it’s worth it. Cheap drinks, live performers and an overall welcoming vibe."
"The bar has amped up their outdoor seating area to host their famous events and continue to provide the party, but within the government guidelines. The bar is open till early hours, teasing the normality of a traditional night out. Type of bar: nightlife"
